National Alliance
for Human Rights and Social Justice- Nepal
(Human Rights Alliance) is a coalition
of Nepali non governmental human rights
organizations dedicated to a cause of
freedom, human rights, social justice,
and peace in Nepal. It was established
in 1996 in the initiation of some leading
human rights NGOs in order for bringing
together like-minded human rights organizations
to build nationwide human rights movement
conducive for all to realize their basic
rights. It envisages a world where people
would pd assert and enjoy all human rights,
and thereby experience peace anrosperity.
Human Rights Alliance consolidates and
coordinates human rights and social justice
movement and has actively involved in
lobbying for the protection of it. It
advocates for a society that is free of
violence, torture, exploitation, oppression,
and injustice. It is a national level
umbrella body of human rights NGOs, run
by the democratically elected representatives.
Human Rights Alliance has over 1000 member
organizations affiliated to it throughout
the nation. It has 5 regional committes
and 75 district committees through which
it coordinates and mobilizes its member
organizations in carrying out its programs
effectively and efficiently.
